Motherhood is the exquisite inconvenience of being another person’s everything.
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.
I’m so glad you’re here! This is exactly where you should be right at this moment. My name is Giovanna. Soy Mexicana and i am the proud product of immigrants in America. I am proud of my struggles and I never let adversity get the best of me. I have been extremely blessed in my life and am grateful for all that I am and will be. I live in the moment and focus on the good things in life. I have two beautiful kids with my husband and we have been married for 6 years. Nashville, TN is home and we love it so much we came back after moving across the country to Colorado. As much as I love it here, it lacks global diversity and I have an inclusion strategy for moms, daughters, sisters, of all minority groups who need online emotional support, encouragement or just a compliment on a really tough day.
Motherhood has been a wonderful journey but not at all easy. I let go of perfection and give myself grace everyday. Through self-love, healthy routines, balancing chakras, yoga, and intentional practices, I have been able to maintain a high confidence which also gives me strength. You know that strength you need to keep going on your most difficult days and you’ve already had enough coffee.. Where do you get that? I am on a mission to create inspiring change. I will be cultivating a sacred space for women to feel seen, heard and supported when it comes to adversity. Latina moms specifically, we need a community to connect. My mission is to empower, encourage and provide resources to Latina moms so that you can have more influence outside of your casa and create happy, healthy, connected families.
Nashville’s first Kush And cocktails event which took place in October 2020 was a huge success in my opinion. The vibe was incredible. Social Distancing precautions were enforced so it was small and intimate which was perfect. However, there is no doubt in my mind that if 2020 wasn’t so restrictive it would have been LIT LIT!
CBD Infused Vegan dinner by TOO FRESH NASH was beyond my expectations! Everything was flavorful & delicious. It definitely left us wanting more! Follow them on Instagram!
Smoking CBD Joints + 3 course meal & drinks by @smedevents bartender was a whole vibe! All infused with CBD & cute little gifts from TN HEMP PHARMACY. Huge shoutout to everyone and their growing business! You definitely could feel the good vibes and it was appreciated! Idk when life is going to get back to normal but this is definitely worth it to attend in the future!

We have finally succeeded potty training this boy before the age of 2! Brother thrives on routine and is really confident in himself. He started communicating with us saying some words at 16 months, instead of whining and grunting. I encouraged my son to communicate more by repeating while pointing at everything. Using a normal voice and actual names of objects encouraged him a lot too. At 18 months old He is now saying 100+ words. I decided it was time! He was showing signs of discomfort with his diapers and would try and take them off. Trying to lay him down to get his butt changed was a 2 minute wrestling match, I WAS DONE. Studies show that 18 months of age is TOO early and won’t be fully potty trained until the age of 4. No way Jose. Follow @rootedinroutine on IG for some great potty training tips & tips on structuring routines for your babies. I’m really loving her page!
Since becoming a mom, I’ve always wanted to try all the cool, healthy things you hear about motherhood. Breastfeeding, check!..making your own baby food, check!..cloth diapering, you know, the cool hard stuff. I mean, MOM-ing’ is hard period. This is just you putting extra effort and intention in to it. He’s a smart little man! I’m so proud! Momma cant have this big man running around in a diaper, so here we go! This post contains some affiliate links to support this blog and keep it running. This is of course at no cost to you and I only share products I use and absolutely love!
What I did first was transition him over to cloth diapers. We absolutely loved this Wagreeco brand! First of all, how cute are the prints! Second, they are “grow with your baby”. They have the adjustable buttons so you can fit it to your baby’s size. It has super soft inner suede. The elastic is gentle on him and the inserts are bamboo! They’re ultra absorbent and maintain dryness!
When I tell you brother was so much happier with these. Its so funny. His attitude changed, he was glad to be getting a dry fresh cloth diaper. You know how much babies enjoying running around with no pants, this made him so much cuter to be running around pant less. Don’t judge me, but i am not a fan of regular diapers running around.
Not to say, there is no more mess, trust me, there is. The most important things for YOU to remember are as follows:
You have to stay consistent with your child & keep the potty near by.
Pay attention to when you give them liquids!
Communicate clearly! Show excitement when they show interest and progress!
Also, to my fur mommas, they have these for your dogs! I don’t remember much from potty traininig my puppies years ago, but I know we have a female pitbull in the family who uses diapers for her cycle once a month, how cute, right?
Now it’s been almost 2 months since we made the switch to the cloth diapers. He is now able to tell me when he is wet! I have also incorporated pull-ups. I’m still deciding on a fav. brand. This teaches him to pull his pants up and down and he learns that’s the big boy way. Now he is able to tell me when he has to go pee-pee and his pull up stays dry! We are still working on #2 but we’re taking this slow. I believe in him and he’s so proud! Set your baby up for success, encourage their leaps and jump out of your comfort zone. Washing the Wagreeco diapers was a lot easier than the 2 minute wrestling match and stinky diapers piling up. I have found it easier to do the cloth diaper after he’s already went #2 for that time of the day. Way less mess.Your future self will thank you!
He has now successfully went pee-pee in his potty 5 times! He will be 2 in March and my goal is to find more ways to help him develop his growth in a healthy and happy way. Stay tuned as I share our journey.
“The best way to make children good is to make them happy.”
Mindful Parenting is a major goal in my motherhood journey. Sometimes its easy to get carried away with the stress of life and take it out on your minis. Taking time to be present and mindful in the thoughts that You are giving energy to, also affects how you discipline. Kids have feelings too and they’re discovering new feelings, exploring new things, growing and learning the world around them, they’re stressed too!
Focusing on being mindful of your reaction to them is key!
Shifting your mood while you’re parenting can be challenging but showing your kids healthy positive reactions will help shape your babies‘ emotional intelligence.
Allowing your kids to express themselves by including them in whatever you are caught up in, allows their motor skills and sensory skills to develop faster than the kids who are not being engaged. Patience will be the main ingredient.
Positive discipline, routine and spending quality time can make a huge difference in how your kids feel. Less trantrums, less mess, less tears? yes please!
You’re more than “mami, mom, momma, mommy” Not to mention, more than a wife, sister, friend, boss, don’t forget your uniqueness! Do you ever feel like motherhood is an extreme sport? Well, that’s because it absolutely is! It’s exhausting! This means you need to be conditioning year round! Not lifting heavy weights or anything, but your mind, body and soul need to be on point! On the days you are questioning yourself, just remember.. you were made to be to be a mother! It’s okay if you struggle to stay positive, it’s okay to miss your old self. It’s okay if you’re exhausted. It’s also okay that you’re not perfect. You are exactly who your kid(s) need. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of how powerful we truly are even when we feel completely defeated. This is where you text your “mom-friend” and share victories. Then you plan a date to go out a month from now and cancel when the time comes because you just don’t have the energy. Sound familiar?
This year I’ve learned to be more intentional and have made more efforts to actually show up and not cancel. I have to appreciate my small tribe. “Mom friends” are essential, but so difficult to find.
My mission is to build a community of like-minded women to empower and inspire each other in the midst of chaos. Constantly speaking life into my kids, my marriage and encouraging my friends around me has been my main focus but has left little energy for me to love ME.
This empowering community will be concentrated on womanhood with a focus on self-care and healthy everyday routines and occasional meals. The purpose is to come together and share ideas of ways to build a better family life in which align with your values.
The goal is to help women achieve a life full of joy, balance and success while reclaiming your identity in the midst of motherhood. Manifest your dream life by focusing on yourself. Pure love and light blog is about focusing on the positive regardless of how chaotic everything around you may seem.
This community will consist of experiences, products and activities that encourage self love, inspire positive relationships/marriage and fun learning opportunities to build, happy and healthy connected families through adversity.
The real secret to surviving motherhood like a pro will require that you join this empowering community and join me in creating influence outside of your home and having an positive impact in the world.
